 Annie Leibovitz By: Amanda Schaeffer               I learned about Annie Leibovitz and her incredible work in my photography classes. Leibovitz is best known for rising into fame when she was part of Rolling Stones and with her celebrity portraits. She is also famous for her iconic pieces such as the John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Whoopi Goldberg, and Caitlyn Jenner. She is an inspiration to look up to due to the quality and effort she takes to capture her photographs. However, for me, the above image of Lauren Hutton attracts me the most with her face being the dominant viewpoint of the image while isolating everything else in the brown mud.  Justin Kimball By: Amanda Schaeffer               My final project is about capturing buildings and important landmarks around my county. I want someone from Schuylkill county to look at my photographs and say "that's my county" due to knowing the important scenery shots. My county is an extremely rural/farmland area and doesn't have a lot of population. Which is why I chose Justin Kimball for my inspiration for my final project. Kimball took many photos around rural areas to showcase towns and how they live. Which is basically what I'm going for, to showcase where we live at and how we see our county.               Justin Kimball inspired me for my final project on capturing the details of our county's specific landmarks.  Hannah Price https://www.magnumphotos.com/photographer/hannah-price/ By: Amanda Schaeffer               I picked Hannah Price for the Magnum Photo Assignment due to her photographs standing out to me. I researched her work and saw she had a series of "Brotherly Love" where she took pictures of Philadelphia life of people and the conditions the city has that they have to live with. I love Philadelphia because the city is only two hours away from where I live and my family likes visiting there and watching the Phillies baseball team.  Philippe Halsman By: Amanda Schaeffer                I chose Philippe Halsman as my inspiration for my portrait assignment. When going over the portrait presentation, I specifically liked this portrait of Bobby Fischer that Halsman captured. I like how he visually placed the chess piece in front of his eye so we really focus on the other one. A lot of photographers capture this unique perspective of covering an eye of the person they are capturing. Which really intrigues me since I want to do more senior portraits for my career. So, I thought I would do this project on this specific technique that Philippe Halsman did on Bobby Fischer.               Becca and I went to Brandon Park to capture our portraits for this assignment. Duane Michals               Duane Michals was brought up in probably every photography class I had at Lycoming. Which is understandable due to his famous self portrait photographs. When I was researching his work, I realized I saw most of his work without realizing it was Duane Michaels. His self portraits are unique and seems like there is a meaning behind them due to what is being captured and with his titles of his photographs. For example, the above image has the title "Self Portrait As I Were Dead", which brings a lot of awareness to the photo due to the captivating title. By critiquing his work, I can explain what I feel when looking at his image and what he can do differently to make this photo pop out more.               I love how Duane Michaels uses his ideas of "self portraits" due to him being in the photograph twice.  Ernst Haas By: Amanda Schaeffer Ernst Haas, Las Vegas 1975               The color and light assignment has made me push my creativity and ideas on what I want to feature in this assignment. My friend and I might go walk the city of Williamsport and see what murals or architect we can find that has colors portrayed in it. Color is dominant in photography so it's no surprise that there's an assignment solely about it. For when the color and light assignment was presented in class, I picked Ernst Haas to talk about since many of his work includes deep tones of color and light.               When analyzing Ernst Haas' work, you can tell that he likes to capture life of cities. I find this really interesting because sometimes cities aren't always the most colorful when looking at grey skyscrapers and black roads.
