George W. Bush




  


  Former president, George W. Bush was in the White House during 9/11. Even if people weren't alive during that time, we have all grown up to remember and to grief that horrific day for America. President George Bush had to be there for the American people over the loss of lives during September 11th. This photograph seems to look like George Bush was at the spot of the twin towers with his arm over a firefighter. This excellent photograph captures that George Bush will lead this country to a better and safer place. This image captures horror on people's faces during this time. They also show them looking up to their former leader on what to do next for their country. Also, the visuals in this picture speak patriotism. There are American flags hanging up, people's arms raised, and smoke in the background. The power that this photograph brings to this specific event is breathtaking. The photograph brings light to Americans to see their president where the twin towers were standing. They see that their president will fight for them and bring them justice for their country.            
    During 9/11, people had mixed emotions during the time. People were mourning the loose of their loved ones, they lost their job, or were angry at the fact that a terrorist would do something like this. According to Susan Sontag's quote, she makes note that photography can make different usage out of people's emotions (105). For instance, this image can referee to someone about how incredible our former president, George Bush was for going out to New York City and being with the helpers for 9/11. Also, someone could be upset with the photo because they know right near the crowd of people is where their loved one died. Furthermore, someone could look at this photography in shock that America let terrorist do this to the American people. Susan Sontag's quote informs that people can have different views or emotions to a photograph (105). We don't all have to agree on a certain feeling when looking at an image, rather than having fixed emotions about it makes photograph beautiful. We all know what happened on this historical day but having this specific photograph makes it powerful for anyone that sees.
